Versatile Blogger Award

Firstly it is always really great to get an award! So thank you so much to Rosalyn of Mission to Mars for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I have to admit to feeling slightly daunted by the task of fulfilling all the requirements – so much so, that a couple of years ago when Jackie of Knitting with Heart kindly nominated me for the Liebster Award I turned it down as I was just not sufficiently au fait with bogland to nominate so many other blogs – I still had my ‘L’ plates on. I have felt slightly mean about that ever since – SORRY Jackie – it was very ungracious of me.

But this time I will give it a go!

7 things about myself:

1. I am proud to say I hosted the International Camp of the Dances of Universal Peace for about 5 years.SAClogo

2. My Welsh Grandfather was the youngest Headmaster of a secondary school in Herefordshire at the age of 24 and introduced gardening lessons for all his pupils. He was born in Pembrokeshire and taught in Woebley.

3. I was a massage therapist and Humanistic Counsellor.

4. I have danced naked in the moonlight – well who hasn’t! (must do that again soon!)

5. I continue to live in a completely chaotic jumble of creative projects and have given up trying to be anything other than who I am.

6. I love to support anyone in their own form of creativity, especially my (8) grandchildren who I love with such immensity and depth and passion, it is hard to contain the vibrations of feeling at times, and I miss them ridiculously when I don’t see them. This has come as a complete surprise to me and I have to keep it just a bit under wraps so as not to flood my children and their children with constant nonsensical babblings of delight! I know that sounds weird and over-the-top, but that is how it feels!!E

7. Birdwatching soothes my spirit.

And the 15 fabulous blogs I nominate for the Versatile Blogger Award:

1. Bluedaisy a brilliant photo challenge, travel and crafting

2. Umpteen Things, self sufficiency with oodles of energy and joy

3. Nanacathydotcom a fellow grandmother with an amazing array of wonderful craft projects

4. Murtagh’s Meadow, a nature lover’s gently engaging blog from Ireland

5. Knitting with Heart full of heart, knitting and a generous sharing and linking to others – the Pinterest pages are a must visit!

6. Draw Doodle Decorate stunning paintings and more

7 .Sinnenrausch, stunning photos, such a beautifully sophisticated lifestyle blog

8. Randomosity this is the post that grabbed me – check out the Drumming!

9. Mum’s Simply Living Blog

10. Eco Footprint South Africa

11. Edwinaepisodes

– 15. I have failed! I know there must be so many other wonderful blogs out there deserving of this award, but so many I would have nominated already have the award. If I spend any more time looking I’ll never get this out there!

Thank you once again Rosalyn.

Please feel free to mention a few more blogs you think deserve to be on the list!

Thanks again for the nomination – on reflection I think the post will be very similar to the Liebster award that I did no so long ago, so I hoped you don’t mind me declining – this time – though I am really honored – here is a link to the other one. Thanks again

  4. Thanks for the nomination, Sandra 🙂 You’ve lived an interesting life! But oh dear, you needn’t have felt badly about opting out from my previous nomination to you!!! . . . Awards are indeed a fun effort. I’ll be honoured to accept this award asap 🙂 Hopefully sooner than later, since I’m now working solely on the iPad 🙂 ♥ ❤

  5. Congrats on the award. Interesting that you have a Welsh grandfather from Pembrokeshire. I have a Welsh grandmother from Camarthen.

    • That’s a nice link! I’m very proud of my Welsh roots and try to get back to Solva at least once a year. As a child we used to drive through Carmarthen on our way to stay with my Grandparents and always drove past the Merlin oak, all propped up with iron railings.

  6. Congrats on the award Sandra, you’re so deserving 🙂
The sacred arts camp sounds like a wonderful experience. I just love those type of gatherings of like energies. Did many entire families go together?
I thought I was brave swimming naked, but dancing in the moonlight sounds much more freeing!!
Ha, ha! I bet your children and grandchildren have their suspicions about your immense love for them 😉 That photo alone says volumes about your feelings. Does her mum allow her to paint in the kitchen like you do? It took me a couple of children to see the art and not the mess and just go with the flow…

    • Thank you Melissa. I was going to give your blog this award too but saw you already had it – is that right? If not, I’m compiling VB Award take two as already I’ve seen more blogs I could have included – I should not have panicked myself into posting – duh! The Sacred Arts Camp is the most amazing experience! Whole families come from all over the world – click the International Camp link to find out more if you are interested. There is always a fabulous programme of kids activities.
The messy painting was done when Miss E was 2 and my only grandchild and I had so much more time to allow these things to happen – my daughter (her Mum) is pretty liberal but free-style painting like this can only be done outside in the garden now there are three of them!!!!

  7. Murtagh's Meadow

A thoroughly deserved award. Lovely to read ‘the seven things ‘about yourself’ and THANK YOU for nominating me. I did the Liebster Award not so long ago so will have to think about this one

  10. Thanks for my award. I feel quite over whelmed. I will be putting my thinking cap on now!
Well done on your award. I agree totally with you on the subject of grandchildren. And what an amazing array of facts. Mine won’t be as inspiring. Mine will be far more mundane!
