At last! I have finished a cushion cover that has been sitting around since ….
May (!) waiting to be sewn up – here it is back then with two other projects waiting for the finishing touches
My d-i-l asked if I could cover one of her cushions to go with the one on the left so that the twins could have a cushion each.
Of the colours I had with me when I was staying with them, we came up with this combination in Stylecraft Special DK: Aspen, Magenta, Cream, Citron, Bright Pink, and Soft Peach
A palette which I think has a Cath Kidston kind of look
And will go so beautifully in the twin’s bedroom
Cute?
Joining in with Ginny’s Yarn along.
Ginny asks us to mention a book we are reading, but I listen whilst crocheting rather than read and am loving the comedy ‘Bird Island’ on BBC Radio 4Extra a “New comedy by Katy Wix. Ben, a young scientist working in the sub-Antarctic, tries to adapt to the loneliness by keeping a cheery audio diary on his Dictaphone. With Reece Shearsmith” and Julian Rhind-Tutt.
Love, love! We first connected through our love of crochet, your Portland blanket or so, if I remember correct, caught my eye…
Is the last cushion tunisian crochet? Very nice!

So glad you like it. The square cushion is a bought one and knitted in cotton. The one I made is ordinary crochet, in a ripple pattern. I have had a go at Tunisian Crochet but have so far found it difficult to keep the edges straight. I find it quite slow going, although I do like the look of it and it makes such a thick, warm robust fabric.

I am with you on the Tunisian Crochet and wish I enjoyed it more as I have a couple sets of needles, ugh!

I might persevere one day and make a little something – but yes Ugh!

You always choose such beautiful colours Daffy. I love the twins’ wallpaper, it is gorgeous.
BTW I listened to the link you gave me earlier. Really interesting and informative. Thanks for thinking of me xxx

That you like the colour combos gives me joy! – I get very excited at that stage of a new project!
So glad the Radio programme was of interest. ❤

Pretty cushion that will go so well with the room colour scheme. You’ve made me think I ought to think of the radio rather than television when I am crocheting. Making the blanket isn’t too bad but some things go very badly with watching TV.

I know what you mean – that’s why I make so many cushions and blankets – so that I can do mindless crafting whilst watching T.V. and completely relax. xx

Crafting along to the voice of J R-Tutt is my idea of heaven. The cushions are going to look so pretty against that delightful wallpaper.

Yes indeed! Mr. R-Tutt is a favourite of mine as well! I’m looking forward to seeing how the cushion looks in the room. As I’m writing this I’m wondering about creating some little crochet birds to match, like Lucy’s Bower Bird design: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/bower-bird.html.
But …..’get thee behind me’creative thoughts! there are more w.i.p’s to finish FIRST!!!!!

Lovely cushions and yes there is something of Cath Kidston about the colour palate. The wallpaper is great too.

Thanks Cathy, that wallpaper is so cute, I’m not a fan of wallpaper in general but this one is so fresh and light and cheerful.
I’m thinking of trying out this palette again with a few extra colours but keeping the C.K. vibe – so maybe a flower design…..
