Oh well done Sandra (and for all those ends too, which you didn’t mention this time!) – it looks so effective

Thank you Cathy – Miss E absolutely loves her blanket – it was worth all the hassle working out how to fit the squares round and then sewing in the ends – ooof that job seems to go on forever!

She has been watching it’s progress and been very patient. I think it will be a nice surprise for her to have it for her birthday – I finished it last night! Phew!

That is such a clever idea to make the border with daisies! I wouldn’t have thought of it unless I had a pattern. What a nice way to spruce up a stripe design!

Thank you for your lovely comment. It can be a bit of a headache making sure the squares fit, but these worked out well. I hope to put a pattern together so that I can make this again sometime if asked, and for others to enjoy.

That is a lovely thought. As it is made of acrylic yarn it has a good chance of lasting quite a while. I wish I could have faith in natural yarns but I am plagued with moths and blankets need to be robust for children to enjoy.

Thank you. My Granny made blankets for all her 14 grandchildren, it is so nice to be able to carry on the tradition.

Wonderful! The daisies really add so much:)

Thank you. I’m glad you like it. Miss E was very definite about wanting daisies to surround her blanket/throw, even if it meant having to wait a long time for me to complete it.

Thank you RainbowJ, it has been a cheerful project to have on the go. She doesn’t know I’m getting it ready for her birthday, so I think it will be a nice surprise.

Thank you so much Eddie. I’ve enjoyed doing it. I’m hoping to write a pattern for it – but that is WORK!

I think I treat it as a cross between a cryptic crossword and a maths puzzle, both of which I used to love – I don’t do either now – brain too busy with haiku and patterns (oh, and teaching diplomacy and peace-keeping to 8,4 and 6 year olds!) 😉

Thanks Cathy, she has been so excited to see it develop – it has taken over a year in between other things so she has been very patient.
