The photo was taken in 2011 when I was having alterations done in the house which went on twice as long as forecast and cost nearly twice as much as the estimate – standard!
Next week’s photo prompt is

Oh my! Been there! I can so relate with you. Renovations are always a pain. Great haiku, you made me feel what it was like all over again. 😉

It seems we are in good company Vashti, judging by the other comments – we have all been there, done that and got the dusty T-shirt. xx

Dust pie is a very apt description, as anyone knows who has endured such a level of renovations!!

Dust pie nightmare is hard to endure. Mine lasted a few weeks. Not pleasant! We had to put our appliances in the living room while the kitchen was being renovated. Loved your poem. 🙂

Have no clue why I was targeted by Askimet to be thrown into spam. It was happening with all bloggers until some found me.

Anyone who has lived in the house during building works will smile at your “dust pie for tea” line. Excellent

Thanks Dorris – what a challenging time it can be – I’m not sure I’ve recovered yet – but at least the builders dust has been purged from the house after 5 years!

Oh, I believe I’ve eaten and served “dust pie”! We have recently finished one project and are entering into the next (although less major). Great haiku!!

Sounds like a tough time. I remember in my previous house having work done and finding brick dust on the dining table every morning so I smiled knowingly at your haiku!

I thought someone would relate to the dust element.
It was truly hideous and very stressful! However I am pleased with the results.
