Week 14 of our One-a-Week Photo Challenge: POND

Back in the darker January days when frost dusted everything with magic, Miss E and I went walking with our cameras. Miss E was given a camera for Christmas and she was keen to get some frosty shots. We went to Thorncombe Woods and headed for the pond.

CHAGRIN and JOY

Do you recognise the bobble hat? – I made one for each grandchild last year, but trying to get a decent photo of all of them was like herding cats
Cute though!
I’ll be away from the computer for a couple of weeks. Cathy will be holding the Photo fort over at Nanacathy, leave a link on her One-a-Week Photo Challenge posts and I will include them in the April Round-Up. Thank you Cathy and as Cathy says:
“Happy Snapping”
😀
Great pond pictures! I took a bit of a blogging break and it is nice to be back and see what people have been up to.

Love the idea of children getting in touch with nature using the eye of a camera. It can teach many things and empower. ❤

Love the icy pond shots, so crackly and cold. Your little Miss E looks like she was born to work a camera! Enjoy your vacation!

Adorable hats, and a photo to be cherished in future decades.
Have a grand time whilst being away & take a few photos for when you get home.

Thank you Sheila – I used the fur pom=poms I saw on your blog for the hats for their Mum’s, they were very well received – so thank you very much for the inspiration! I’m trying to think of next year’s homemade gift – any suggestions?

Crumbs – I’ve never got the hang of knitting socks and 16 of them makes me blanch a bit! Great idea though.

Love those little hats – how did you manage to get them all together in the end?

The incentive was that they could all watch TV after the photo – there is still one child missing, though the hat is there!

Thank you RainbowJ. Perhaps we could go to Thorncombe Woods when you are next in Dorset.

Well, if the weather and life are good to us, I am quite happy to go wherever you suggest, as Dorset seems a lovely county, but Thorncombe woods does look interesting.
