My family and I spent Half-Term in a wonderful holiday house in Devon.
We combined Pancake Day and Valentine’s Day, another excuse to bring out the ice-bowl I’d made for Christmas – it survived the 1.5 hour car journey, from freezer to freezer, really well.
the rice was asking for some decoration but the central stenciled heart did not work, a sprinkled heart worked better
time away allows us all to get creative…
the card my daughter made for her husband
get it?!
Little Miss M did her version, don’t you just love the toes!
and inside
and the card made by Dad and Little Miss M….. a love dart to the heart ….
I do hope you had an enjoyable Valentine’s Day, not always easy for anyone on their own.
I’m joining in with Postcard From Gibraltar’s Friday Photo Challenge – I know it’s not Friday, but I hope I can just squeak in.

Trust you to inspire the whole family to get creative and come up with such gems! To-ma-toes, I ask you!

Glad you liked the Tomatoes card – I was a bit slow on the uptake when I first saw it. 😉

I did a mad dash round the shops just before I left and picked anything I thought we could use, then just put it all out for everyone to have a go.
We had a fun time.

I used to do a lot of spontaneous creativity with my kids when they were young – when I couldn’t think what to give them for lunch they had ‘make-your-own-sandwiches’ – dump everything I could find on the table and let them loose! They thought it was a huge treat! and they do it with their own kids now. 😉

Oh that is such a cool idea and teaches decision making at the same time:)

Always good to give little ones choices when possible isn’t it.

Yes it certainly is. I do it purposely as I want them to be better at making decisions than I am!

Wonderful that the whole family could get away, and that you were able to enjoy crafting together. Precious times! Love that very top photo, with the heart candles encircling another candle! xx

Thank you Del. We get away together every other year – it has to be booked well in advance so that we can all make it! Precious times indeed, I love seeing my kids and their spouses having relaxed times together – and the little ones all romping around are a complete delight.
Re the top photo – I was thrilled when the hearts made a flower round the central candle – I’m going to see if I can recreate that in crochet.

That will be lovely in crochet!
Was looking at your squirrel directions a bit ago… moving up the To-Do list.
Will keep you posted.

Ooo yes! please do keep me posted. When my brain has fully recovered from the wonderful mush it gets into having been with busy kids, I’ll add some photos to the pattern.

Started this last night & ran into some wonderings… probably my inexperience! Possibly easier to chat, if you’ve time this week. Just let me know! Will email you with confirmation from my “editors” account.

As always, wonderful creativity. Also, a terrific reminder that Valentine’s Day can be broadened to includes all kinds of love. For example, I always send my children cards and chocolates. They are at the top of my list of those whom I love. When my mother was alive, I did the same for her

Hard work…?! I will be looking after Younger Daughter’s Little Poppet one day a week from April, so will no doubt be similarly worn out! 😀

I find it is tiring just to be taken out of my normal day-to-day creative meanderings nowadays, but with 5 bouncy kids ….! Not ‘hard’ work and very enjoyable but definitely tiring work. I’m sure you are looking forward to that week, and in April your Little Poppet will be able to get out in the garden with a trowel – precious times.

At 9 months old by then, not quite Sandra! But yes, I am having to change my routines – but I did offer voluntarily. Wouldn’t want to do 2 days, like her other Grannie 😐
