In a Moss Ball on Monday

kokodama money plant, moss ball, succulent

Joining in with Cathy’s In a Vase on Monday

A rooted cutting from a ‘Money Plant’ or Crassula Portulacea (I think?), just right to make into a piece of Kokodama as a gift for a fellow blogger with a penchant for succulents.

I had the most brilliant day yesterday – all due to commenting on Noelle’s Snowdrop post a couple of weeks ago. Following an exchange of comments and Noelle’s generous invitation, Noelle, Alison and I all met up at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells for the Snowdrop Celebration.

We had the best time – more photos to share in a future post

So, thank you from the tip of my toes to the top of my head to Cathy for her fabulous Monday meme which brought us together, Noelle for the suggestion and generous hospitality and Alison for joining us to make it such a wonderful day.3 angels, Bishop's Palace WellsNoelle  ~  Alison  ~  Me

    • It had a feeling of magic about it Cathy – we all sparkled in the sunshine and in each other’s company and Noelle had organised things perfectly and provided us with a warming home-made soup and foccacia for lunch…. more about that in another post.

  8. We’ve been to Wells many times as we live within the diocese. A lovely place for the three of you to meet up 🙂

  9. What a brilliantly blue-sky day for an outing. I recognize the Bishop’s Palace from one of my jigsaw puzzles – heh! Nothing like a spring garden visit to launch the season.
I’ve never heard of kokodama and had to look it up. A great art form! Thanks for the learning opportunity, Sandra. 🙂

  10. How wonderful. I’m envious. Now which one is which, from left to right. It’s great to be able to put a name to a face isn’t it. Thanks for the wonderful slide show too. I haven’t visited there before.

  12. How fun! Blogging can be wonderful in bringing people together. I’ve met a couple of “local” fellow gardeners that way too.

  14. Hey, you’ve got wings! It is always lovely to put names to faces, so who is who? Beautiful sky, but it looks cold. I love the moss ball – that is what I call thinking out of the box/vase! 😉

  15. Fabulous! It adds great depth to our on-line friendships when we spend real time together. And it is so inspiring when we get to see the photos and share in a bit of the fun too – love that last shot of you all with the wings! 🙂

  17. Your photographs are beautiful and do capture the sunshine. It’s such a lovely place to visit, I hope you’ll make it back sometime to see how the winter garden develops and maybe see the Bishop’s Palace in summer too.

  18. Kokodama is looking for a lovely mossy stone…you have inspired me to go out into the garden and find one. You brought me a lovely treat. So many memories made in one day with two IAVOM friends. Your photographs and post have really captured the day.

    • Thank you so much Noelle – it was such a special day – more photos to come, so many things to share of our day – it had a deliciously gentle pace but we covered a lot of ground in so many ways! Still glowing with the thought of it all.

Oh, my gosh! What wonderful pictures of your outing. I especially like the winged picture of all three of you. And I am positively besotted with snowdrops. I don’t recall ever seeing them in Maine. Such beauties!

    • I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like snowdrops and now I’m meeting lots of people who adore them! I have a friend who takes the same walk each morning and she speaks to the snowdrops in a certain patch every day, whether they are still underground or not!
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, it is like having you along with us Laurie.

  21. What a thrilling day you will have had – I always have a mixture of nerves and excitement meeting fellow bloggers so 2 at one time was a double dose of feelings! Thanks forsharing some of your photos (yes, the wings were great – any idea what they represented, apart from angelic bloggers of course?) And you are working up a lot of interest with the kokodama, not surprisingly as it is such a lovely idea although like you I certainly don’t have a minimalist house! Oh, and thanks for making sure I noticed the witch hazels – always gorgeous to see 🙂

    • It really was one of those magical days Cathy.
There are a set of children’s Angel Wings (photo to come) and then these adult ones – I did not read anything about them, I just assumed they were created for photo opportunities, but Noelle might know more.
You were much on our thoughts and our conversations as we wandered round those really rather wonderful gardens. I will always think of you when I see snowdrops and witch hazels – Lovely connections through plants. ❤

      • Oh that’s fun, created for the photo opportunities – I thought they must be some sort of sculpture. I suppose my ears should have been burning yesterday, but perhaps it was just too cold to notice! Thanks for all your kind words (what you said to each other may be another matter though!!!)

  28. How I wish I could have joined you; one of the downsides of living in Italy is not having gardens to visit easily (apart from historic ones of course). We had bright sunshine too yesterday – and then it snowed!
