I met this guy on Branscombe Beach last weekend, any ideas what his name could be?
He looks like he might be emerging from his underground home to see who’s about.
I think he might be related to this chap who lives in the Lost Gardens of Heligan
I don’t know his name either.

Every day another surprise.

What an amazing find. Looks like an interesting rock too: all those layers.

Yes, I agree RJ. I wonder if I will find him again when I go back in September.

Didn’t you take him for your collection?

No he was huge – and who knows how deep he went – I should have taken a photo to give a sense of size.

Wouldn’t it be fun to create a face like that in your own garden?? Have no idea what your little sea creature is.

Yes, he is amazing isn’t he – they call him the Giant’s Head at the Gardens. Glad you like my entry Cee – it is such a fun challenge!

Up from the depths! After he takes a good look around, I expect he’ll go right back down. I had never seen one of those green heads until I watched “Big Dreams, Small Spaces.” I don’t think we have them over here, but I might be wrong about this.

Is that the Monty Don gardening programme – Big Dream, Small Spaces? I do love a bit of Monty on the TV – Gardener’s World just started again last night – his dog is called Nigel! (see Cathy’s comment below).

Me too. I didn’t know the programme had made its way over the pond.

Indeed it has, but only one season. Hope we get more. I got so many good tips from watching the show, which featured everyday people coping with difficult gardening situations, ranging from tiny yards to a yard on a hill to yards in between. There was even a show that featured an allotment. (Community gardens we call them here.) Wonderful series!

It’s great to see what can be done isn’t it. I think there are three series all together: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b071c28x/episodes/guide

That sounds like a great title for a Silly Story. Those names do suit them very well. And when I was sitting outside the cafe by the beach with my cappucino and doing some crochet last Sunday, a family walked by and their large golden rough-haired dog was called Nigel!
