and in a crochet mandala celebrating our clocks Springing forward here in the UK.
Pattern: Mandala Madness by Helen Shrimpton with a plain centre
One of my granddaughters was born on Primrose Day so I will be using the one of these photos to decorate her birthday card.
Joining Cathy and her happy band of gardeners for In a Vase on Monday.
Ooh, how lovely! The primroses are so pretty in the sunshiny photos and really are a sign of spring too! I love your mandala – I shall take a look at the link as I am always on the lookout for new crochet ideas. 🙂

Thank you Cathy, primroses sing Spring don’t they.

if you go to Google images there is a multitude of colour combinations of this pattern. It really is a wonderful pattern to make, with video tutorials as well.

Thanks for the link. I have just (well, almost!) finished the Sophie’s Universe blanket here: http://www.lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/crochet/sophies-universe-cal-2015/sophies-universe-cal-2015-information/ That was such fun and perfect for grey winter days!

Such a charming vase. The mandalas are sweet too. Can’t imagine having so many primroses that you can take so many blooms for your mandala.

I do have quite a lot of primroses growing here and there Lisa, but it did take some time to find unblemished ones of similar size. They are such happy little flowers to work/play with. 🙂

Such talent you have – intricate, lacy handwork that shines with its primrose blossoms. I like the way the sun has backlit the arrangement in your first photo!

You are kind Eliza. The sun just peeped through at the right time, I was glad to catch it as it shone through the leaf. Precious sunshine which has gone again today … we are in for a wet week!

Lovely. Wild primroses are one of my favourite flowers.

Yes, and mine. I’m not over fond of yellow flowers in the garden in general, but would not want to be without the primrose.

What a sweet display! I’ve given up on primroses given their water requirements but I miss seeing them in my own garden. I notice that our local garden centers aren’t even selling them in quantity anymore.

Oh that’s a shame, they are so sweet and delicate – do you have another favourite that gives you as much pleasure as the little primrose?
You have so many beautifully bold exotic blooms in your neck of the woods.

This is lovely! My husband is always so confused by my enthusiasm for the clock going forward in spring. He bemoans losing an hour of sleep.

Thank you Terri, I’m experimenting with using crochet as art – although crochet and flower mandalas can only exist as photos to keep, I think they work together quite well.

I’m equally impressed with your sweet primroses and your crocheting skills. Very sweet and this will make a lovely image for your granddaughter’s birthday card! Hooray for having more time in the evening to potter in the garden!

Thank you Peter. I’m joining in with your cheering the arrival of evening pottering time – I love the days when I can happily garden until dusk.

Nicely inspired colours for your crochet…love those primroses. During our walk this morning we spied the wild ones out on the banks.

What a beautiful vase and display….I can’t wait for our primroses to be uncovered from their snowy blanket and start blooming.

At least they are snug under their blanket – I hope the sunshine comes soon for you and them.

I love the idea of Primrose Day – but love less it’s connection with Disraeli. So I just think of 19th April as Primrose Day! and a celebration of my granddaughter’s birth.
