My son-in-law was helping with a house clearance this week and he rescued this vase for me, isn’t that lovely of him!!! And my daughter said – “a Vase for Monday!”
I immediately thought the vase had a Kahloesque look about it. You might already know I am a big fan of Frida!
An opportunity to get those candles out again.
Does anyone know what the mauve flowers are – they seed themselves freely around the garden?
I am thoroughy enjoying the heady scented mix of honeysuckle and philadelphus.
And philadelphus is my entry for Cee’s Flower of the Day.
There is a Frida Kahlo exhibition on at the V and A at the moment – I hope to go and see it, but it is hard to think of getting on a train and travelling to London whilst we are enjoying such glorious sunny weather.
Do you have anything to pop in a vase this Monday – if so do join in with Cathy over at Rambling in the Garden – such a fun gathering of gardeners.
I must just share another beauty of a sunset we had last night
Venus
Love the movement in the main arrangement….the two Philadelphus and Honeysuckle works beautifully together.

Thank you Noelle. It is so frustrating, I don’t seem to be able to leave a message on your blog. Love reading your posts though. xx

Lovely skies at the moment. Saw this yarn tonight and reminded me of your post as there is one colourway called Frida Kahlo.

Your vase was a very lucky find and is perfect with the Frida candles. Could the lavender flowers be one of the Campanulas? I can almost smell the honeysuckle and philadelphus!

Yes!!! You’ve got it – I thought the flowers were not Bell shaped enough for campanula but Google images gave me this one: https://www.anniesannuals.com/plants/view/?id=4652
Thank you for solving the mystery for me.
It is so frustrating that I don’t seem to be able to leave a comment on your blog – your flowers are wonderfully exotic to me – I’ve never seen them before. I particularly like the floating ones and that you cropped out the dust – I do that too and use retouching to clean up the house in photos!

Fantastic vase! Yay for Frida! I love her, too, and a friend gave me a postcard of her. It is hanging on my Fridge. Also, what a sunset!

Lovely vase and lovely arrangement. Beautiful skies too – those colours! I have blue flowers like yours rambling around the front, don’t know what they are though.

I think Peter has given us the answer – Campanula!

Mock orange is just wonderful. Ours has just finished, the garden is just romping ahead at the moment.

Romping! Yes, mine too – I’ve already been out there lopping and slashing before the sun revs up for the day.
