Part 6 is complete
I’m now halfway through Part 7 and then there is an edge.
These colours felt strange in the middle of a heatwave a few months ago, but I’m so enjoying working with them now.
Yesterday afternoon, I was sitting in the Park whilst my grandchildren played with their friends after school, the autumn leaves were falling around me, my blanket on my lap whilst I worked on it, and the warm October sun on my face. That to me is a slice of heaven right there!
The design is by Jen Tyler of Hooks n Tales. Stylecraft Special DK and a 4.5mm hook.

This pattern is not for the faint-hearted! and there are literally 100s of ends to sew in, but I do really like the result.
I’d like to make this pattern again in different colours, but I’m not sure when I will be ready to dedicate so much time and attention to such a big project again.
It is very demanding!
Whist sewing in all those ends at home in the evenings, I listen to the radio – this fabulous music programme keeps me company – available on iPlayer for the next 29 days.

When I first saw the colors I thought “Ooooh! The colors look so exotic.” The colors are stunning, the pattern and fancy bits are stunning. One could just look at this for hours and never tire of it! :o) I also agree the colors are very autumn too. They are my favorite colors.
Our Fall has been rain- rain- rain. So no sunshine or sitting in the yard of the woods for this Grandma. :o) Maybe next Fall. We go home for the summer today.

Thank you. Yes it is intricate and I have enjoyed having to concentrate so hard on the videos as that takes me away from ‘the everyday’ for a while.

These are my very favorite colors. What a work of art. I wouldn’t even know how to chase the tails let alone work the hooks.

Those colours warm you up by just looking at them don’t they Lisa. It really is a ‘magnum opus’! I couldn’t do it without the video tutorials.

Eek! All those fancy bits. Definitely not for the faint hearted – although at least the yarn you mention is easy to work with and it’s a decent size hook. I’m struggling with a smaller hook and 4ply at the moment, having spent ages lately working on projects with kindly DK and a 4 or 4.5mm hook. Still, this is a touch of autumn splendour indeed and you will end up with a work of art to treasure – once those ends are dealt with of course 😉

Yes the yarn is so easy to work with, especially after making 3 dreamcatchers with thread and a 2mm hook.

I am definitely seeing this blanket as an heirloom which will live on long after I have disappeared in a flurry of yarn tails – I could stuff a few cushions with them all!

Very Autumnal colours, I can just picture you there in the Park. It’s a very intricate design, especially those bunches of grapes or whatever they are.

Yes intricate describes it well. So many parts of the design are added independently – hence so many ends. You get to both love and hate puffs and popcorns!

It really is amazing – and quite autumnal too. I love it – even while I know making it would just drive me bonkers with all the changes and ends. I like to weave my ends in as I go – but I suppose it isn’t really possible in many areas of this design. You are a brave crochet artiste Ms Daffodil!! ❤

It does drive me mad at times and after what seems like hours of sewing in ends I look and there are hundreds more! I have to do it when I feel like it, which as you can imagine, isn’t often enough!!!
I am driven by the complexity of the pattern to see how the next bit works out and i am inspired by all the other brave souls who have posted their amazing work on the FB page. Onward!
