Not in a Vase on Monday

Celebrating Cathy’s 5 year anniversary

mandala, november

Hastily gathered on a walk this morning and quickly arranged. Couldn’t miss out on this one!

white berries

Does anyone know what this is – a tree with Ash-like leaves and white berries – upright structure, about 15 feet tall. Gorgeous!

Congratulations Cathy!

  5. Do you always get so much color in your leaves? They are so beautiful! Our plum was a deep purple color this fall, which I’ve never seen before.

  7. Your mandalas are always gorgeous – love the colours in this one. Just saw the comment above and I had no idea there are rowans with white berries either!

Beautiful and i would agree with others that it is a rowan variety that must produce white as opposed to normal red berries.

  9. I so enjoy floral mandalas and hope to someday make them myself. This one is a wonderful celebration of autumn’s colorful artistry.

  10. Beautiful arrangement Sandra as always. I wonder how many people you have inspired to create no-vase arrangements of leaves and petals and flowers. Did you know there is an app you can get called ‘plantsnap’ for your phone. Take a pic of any leaf/flower and it will come back with the name. I use my app very often 🙂

  11. Such beautifully coloured leaves. Look great against the green of the grass.

  12. Beautiful and seasonal. This would have been a good opportunity to do a ‘flat lay’ but it would take a day to find my workbench in the shed. 😦

  15. Yes, I thought it was probably a rowan -Sorbus cashmiriana perhaps? Your mandala is absolutely perfect for today’s challenge and is so typically ‘Sandra’ – thanks for sharing it amidst your rushing about it!

  16. Lovely lovely leaves! We have a little rowan tree in our garden (with glorious red berries) and I posted a photo of it at the end of last week. Here’s my contribution for this special 5th birthday today! Amanda https://therunningwave.blogspot.com/2018/11/not-in-vase-on-monday.html

    • I’m definitely going to look for one with white berreis to plant. Thanks for your link – I tried to post a comment but Google wants a password I can’t remember! I LOVE your very inventive take on the theme.
