There seems to be a bit of bunting fever on the net.
Lucy Attic is making some, Eleonora has made some new seaside themed bunting for Little Box of Crochet, and she has other patterns on Ravelry and Wendy of Red Brick Glass is busy making some for the upcoming Purbeck Arts Week.
No wonder then, that as I was making some more Pixie Points to start a new jacket like my Flower Fairy Baby Jacket that I started to think of bunting.
Bunting in Lucy Attic’s latest Dune colours.
I’m thinking of attaching some shells to the bottom of each triangle.
This is work in progress, and I have not worked out how I’m going to attach the triangles together yet, but in case you would like to make some yourself here is the pattern for the triangles.
They measure 3.5 inches across the top and are 4.5 inches long.

That makes me so happy Cathy, thank you!
Funnily enough I was just looking up how long it would take me to get to one of your Open Gardens – 3:5 hours. I’ve been daydreaming about making a round trip including other places en route – just a fantasy at the moment, and probably not this year but …….. it is nice to dream.

I love bunting, it’s so cheerful. The colours you’ve chosen are gorgeous, and the seashells will make it such fun. I’ll look forward to seeing the finished thing!

Bunting does add a celebratory feel doesn’t it – of course now I want to spend all day making bunting and there are other things (nice things like going to see my grandchildren in their school plays) that must be done. Bunting will have to wait.

Bunting is a lovely summery thing to do – I once ran a thing on my blog and people from all over made all kinds of bunting for an Australian blogger’s garden – that was fun! Your bunting is beautifully delicate and I rather like the idea of attaching little shells to the bottom of each piece too, it will help weight the piece nicely.

I want to know more about your ‘thing’ on your blog! Can you leave a link – it does sound fun.
I think the shells will add a necessary anchoring aspect to the triangles – and of course they will look better when blocked.
