Anemones in November

anemone

Those little buds from my 11.11 vase have just decided to open.

Sometimes we push ourselves forward in the wrong season, we do not shine so brightly, we are much smaller than we could be, but still we insist on flowering.

Will they flower again in Spring, I wonder, or will they have exhausted themselves.

  1. That is a very arty angle Sandra really emphasising the plants yet giving the vase it own dimension, and it looks Japanese too.

  2. Lovely photo❣️
Yes, growing things are continually being shocked into extremes that affect their normal growing seasons.

(Would you mind sending me the name of an artist you mentioned several years ago? I think she was part of a collective, something like ‘wild women’ (or was that an exhibit?) and you had taken a course from her. If you don’t recall or haven’t time, don’t worry. Many thanks❣️ xx)

  3. Wonderful! They’re normally planted in fall in my climate and mine are already producing foliage. I’ve covered them with empty plastic flats to keep the critters away – that doesn’t seem to be enough to safeguard the sweet pea seedlings but it’s working so far with the anemones.

  4. Lovely! Anemones are foreign to me and I hope they keep coming back.

  7. How wonderful. I have several roses in the garden which were sporting very soggy buds. TodayI pruned them to save them the effort!

    • There are several spring-flowering plants out there I’m nipping in the bud, trying to give them the best chance of flowering properly when they should, rather than a few pale pathetic blooms now.

  8. What a beautiful treat. I’ve noticed foliage emerging from some anemones I planted last year. Will keep an eye out.

  10. Like the name of the vase…I get it! The picture just sums up the weather and the light, and this year flowers have been performing quite differently from previous years.
