A walk round the pond.
We wanted to identify this little bird – it was so tiny and hard to spot in the fir trees. Such a loud alarm call for a tiny bird.
Even harder to find with my phone, look at the top of the video and it will come into view
We searched the free App ‘Chirp’, I have on my phone, once we were away from the bird. (we should not play recorded birdsong near birds as it confuses them) The nearest we found was the Willow Warbler and the Chiff Chaff, but ‘Chirp’ did not have their alarm calls
So I looked on You Tube and we found this clip
We think it is a Chiff Chaff, what do you think?

Just got back from a circular walk around these parts – such beautiful views across this rolling countryside. I love it here and no regrets about leaving France at all..
My back seemed fine – how’s your sciatica? – we must arrange our walk before too long.

I know!!!!! …. We need a Bill Oddie App, so that we can call him on Facetime whenever a bird needs identifying …… and he could do a few Goodies jokes at the same time – he’s definitely missing a trick there!
I am so pleased to know that you are happy in your new environment. I wondered how it would feel, but I know you have chosen a particularly magical corner of our beautiful County. It is still reassuring to hear you have no regrets.
So glad that your back is behaving itself. Every time I think the Sciatica is getting better …… well ….. it isn’t! …. but walking is still good for it, so YES, I will send you a private message so that we can make a date. 🙂 🙂 🙂
