Blogland is such a wonderfully positive community of creative people and enriches my creative life.

Bright colours dancing together feed my soul.

My Mum taught me to knit when I was 5 as I am left-handed and she wanted to teach me to knit right-handed so that I would be able to follow patterns easily.  *   What a gift!!   *    It set me on the road of making things that has been a joy and delight all my life.

I live on the South Coast of England and spend many happy hours walking on cliffs and beaches. Sometimes stopping to create a labyrinth or mandala.

Why WILD DAFFODIL?

Firstly a DAFFODIL is the flower emblem of Wales and I am very proud of my Welsh heritage, my Mum was Welsh. 

Second: I used to live in an idyllic spot where wild daffs grew in the meadow, I made a collection of all the names of the plants that grew in that ancient permanent pasture – one of my favourites was the ‘corky-fruited water dropwort’ and then how about ‘Marsh Cudweed’, said in a broad Dorset accent this sounds like a character from a child’s storybook. I held camps there and one camp decided they would each take on the name and persona of the plants for a day and dressed up accordingly – can you imagine dressing-up as ‘Pendulous Sedge’! Anyway … I remember ‘Wild Daffodil’, complete with daffodil yellow feather boa, being an absolutely spectacular apparition, and I think of that amazingly creative group when I think of Wild Daffodil.

WHAT WILL YOU READ ABOUT:

Mainly crochet, with smatterings of knitting, painting and gardening.

Add a love of photography, the countryside with little touches of magic and serendipity and the inspiration of my 8 gorgeous grandchildren and you get a sense of what I will enjoy sharing with you.

Introducing you to my grandchildren:

My daughter has 3 children: they are Miss E (teen), Master R (teen) and Little Miss M (12)

Son 1 has two boys: Big Bro(teen) and Little Bro(12)

Son 2 has 3 girls: Big Sister(teen) and Twins (12) Twig and Twiglet

My latest creative experiments will be shown on the blog and some make their way into my Etsy Shop and onto my Ravelry page.

I put links to resources, and shops that give a good service, but I do not get any financial reward for this.
