The Astrantia reminds me of a plant I’ve only seen dried. I pick it and have used it in my retablos or arrangements at times, but it is much smaller than your Astrantia–which I’ve never seen before, but like a lot!!!
‘Retablos’ is a new word to me and I’m SO glad you have introduced me to this wonderfully intriguing art form. I loved looking at yours on your website – itching to make one now! You’ve got me thinking whether I could dry the astrantia – I’m going to give it a go. You are an inspiration! Thank you! ❤
I certainly will – it won’t be for a while yet, there are so many unfinished projects clamouring for attention, but I am definitely going to start making some little collections of things that tell a story. My granddaughter is 8 and home educated, she comes to me one day a week to do crafts and gardening and i think this is something she would like to do – now to get hold of some cigar boxes! Thank you so much again for the inspiration.
I’ll post a list of places to look for ingredients for a “retablo” on my blog for you. It has been awhile since I’ve taught a class so I’ll have to look it up on an old computer. If you don’t see it in the next two days, remind me!!! Okay to nag.

If you do make one, please post a picture and tip me off to look for it. Cigar boxes make good retablo forms!!!
