Hot of the Hook

I’m learning new Crochet acronyms so here is my latest HOTHDSC_0791

If there was Ginny’s Yarn Along to join in with I would, but sadly and completely understandably Ginny has decided to step back gracefully. I just love Ginny’s blog, her photographs are superb and I have to admit to being just a little bit in love with her and all of her most delightful children.

A major WIP, in progress for about 3 years has just been finished – a double bedspread with a Mexican theme.

Crochet Slang

This fulfils another one for  17 for 2017 challenge (12 WIPS finished) [Update: Oooops that is misleading, sorry, I have now done 6 out of the target of 12 WIPS, this one shown is one of the 6 and moves me closer to the target of 12 done in the year]

I YAP a lot!

If you would like to share a current HOTH, CAL, FOTH, JOTH, PHD, YAP, WIVP or WIP. I’d love to see them!

  2. Ha ha – love these acronyms, most of which I haven’t heard until now! Fabulous blanket and well worth the time taken.

  3. 12 out of 17 and it’s only the first 1/4 of the year! That’s brilliant progress, well done! Thank you for sharing those abbreviations, I didn’t know most of them! x

    • Glad you enjoyed the abbreviations – lots were new to me. I have misled you on the 17 for 17 – sorry – must reword it. My target is to finish 12 WIPs in 2017, and this one is moving me forward, but in fact I have only finished 5 so far. Thanks for cheering me on though – all encouragement very gratefully received! xx

    • Thanks for your link Cathy. I’m beginning to feel the call of the needles again ……….. crochet is seductive as it grows fast and is very portable but knitting is my first love. xx

  5. Oh, so beautiful! Reminds me a bit of the one I have on my bed, Over thirty years ago, my grandmother made it for me, and it still looks great.

    • Aaah! You had a crocheting Grandmother too. My father’s mother crocheted a blanket for each of her 14 grandchildren and I seem to be carrying on her tradition. So glad to know you still have yours, mine went, I know not where, sometime in childhood. I do remember it was green and yellow, the colour of daffodils!

  8. Congratulations, its very pretty and colourful. Like all the acronyms, sadly all my crochet is done for now! And I am on a yarn diet! Too many knitting projects to do.

    • A yarn diet – sounds horrible!!!!! Does this mean you are restricting your buying of yarn? Yikes – that must be hard, don’t think I could do it!
Looking forward to seeing your knitting projects. xx
