Scrap Happy: The Butterfly Effect

I am joining Kate and her Happy Scrappers this month with my contribution to a collaborative textile project called The Butterfly Effect.

I am a member of the Stitchbook Collective, but this project is open to anyone who enjoys a bit of relaxing simple hand stitching.

Helen Birmingham of Untangled Threads has devised the project and you can read more about it HERE

I got these intriguing kitsand have made a start on some panels that will be made into godet panels for the skirt of a dress

Helen has provided old sari scraps called Chindi. We are to iron them, attach to some fabric she has obtained from old sample books

and then needle felt and stitch into them.

I’m looking forward to a bit a slow stitching and hope to share progress next month – that’s if life doesn’t get in the way, as it has been doing recently!

Pop over to Kate’s blog to see what other inspiring scrappers have been up to.

  5. You have some lovely colours there! Sometimes sari scraps can be a bit pastel, but these saturated scraps are going work well together.

What an interesting project! Please show us your panels when they are finished. And post a link when the finished installation goes on display.
