I am still completely captivated by the irises in my garden
The scent is so delicious! I wish I could bottle it up and send it to you.
Just imagine putting your nose to this gorgeous thing and getting slightly heady from the pear drop-like scent
Cutting them seems almost a crime, but having the scent indoors to walk past is a real treat
They are with Weigela and Nigella and some of the bottles from last week
I’m besotted by their shape and sculptural form
and can’t stop clicking
My favourite so far ~~~ Title: Mother and Child.

Such amazing beauties. I’m a fan of the iris myself. Brings back memories of childhood. Lovely photos, Sandra. ❤

These are stunning photos! I love irises, too. At the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario, one of their garden “rooms” is the Laking Garden, devoted entirely to every type of iris you can imagine! But my favourites are the native Blue Flag wildflowers.

Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!! I’m swooning at the thought of that place! If I ever get to Canada I’ll have to head for Ontario!
I just took myself on a virtual tour of the Laking Garden – wow!!!! Thank you for letting me know about it.

Isn’t the iris garden amazing?! Among the RBG’s other gardens is the Lilac Dell, which I believe might have been an old quarry that is now full of hundreds of lilac trees of many different species. The first time I went, we happen to hit their flowering peak. I remember wandering from tree to tree, smelling each one … and each one smelled more heavenly than the last! And then there’s the Rose Garden, and the Herb Garden….

I love the mixed bottle vignette! That Iris (I’m virtually certain it’s the same one) is the only bearded Iris that’s bloomed in my garden this year and I’ve also taken many, many photos of it. It surprised me not only by being the only one to bloom but also for blooming on my neglected back slope and opening at intervals over a relatively long period.

Your iris and arrangements are stunning. I love iris but haven’t grown the gorgeous bearded varieties in years. Perhaps that should change next year.

My absolute favorites, from their beauty to their smell. Love the side shots you took. When my tall irises are in bloom, I’m going to get a side shot, too.
